· Two side-loading hydraulic actuators and fixtures with independent velocity control. · A 30kW induction heating unit (TACCO) with programmable temperature controllers, · Gas pressure unit with two channels independent programmable servo- controllers (10kpsi) · Tools and bolster plates, several sets of forming dies, castable ceramic dies. · Sensors for load, displacement, pressure, temperature (thermocouples and infrared), strain measurement (extensometers, optical with Digital Image Correlation, and circle-grids). · Integrated PC data acquisition and digital control, programmable temperature controllers. |

2. Material testing system (Instron 8803, 100kN):
with servo-hydraulic digital controller, hydraulic grips for round and sheet tensile testing (ASTM standards). Additional two small load cells ( 10kN and 1kN) for smaller load scale testing or elevated temperature testing. A split furnace with programmable temperature controller. |

3. Six-Axes Material Testing System (50N max., custom designed):
With independent control for each of the 6 step motors to provide 6-Degree-of- Freedom motion. Additional interchangeable voice-coil actuators can be added to allow further change in full scale load to wider range. |

4. Rolling Mill:
2-High, 2 sets of rollers at 60mm dia. for round bars and flat sheets. |

5. Micro-hardness testers:
Vicker & Knoop hardness, with load-control mode at 10g and up (Instron Tukon 2100), and nano-indenter/scratch tester (custom designed) at 1mg and up. |

6. Differential Scanning Calorimeters (DSC):
Q2000 up to 1500°C and Q20 up to 700°C. |

7. Metallurgical optical microscope with image analyzer, furnaces, and sample preparation devices:
Sample cutting, mounting, grinding, polishing, electro-polishing, heat treating, optical microscope, digital imaging and software for microstructure analysis. |

10. Electron Back-Scattered Diffraction (EBSD) probe and software for texture analysis
The probe and software installed at a WSU scanning electron microscope, used for microstructure and crystallographic texture analysis.
Additional campus-wide electron-beam analyzing capability (TEM & SEM with probes of EBSD and EDS, X-ray diffractometor.
